Special Christmas Cards

I am finally down to just my special cards!! I created four today..not alot I know and they did take nearly 2 hours each!! Still I thought I would share them with you, the recipients don't watch my blog, or even log into the world wide web, so 'm safe sharing them with you, they are all winging there way across the pond,

The first was to my very special great-aunt, who is in England from Germany for the holidays, you will have to excuse the red fingerprints, we have a tradition of putting Maddi's hand print in the cards and the older she gets the messier it gets!!

The second is for my Grandad, who is so special to me, we are very close and I miss so much not being at his house for all our family traditions and can't wait to get to see him next year

The third is for Mum, she is a card maker, but doesn't get much time at the minute to craft so this one took extra time as I wanted it to be perfect and her to feel appreciated for all she does for me and Maddi and all the red cross parcels we get!!

Finally, this is for my Mum's neighbor, she is wonderful to Maddi and has a great-niece only 10days different in age to Maddi.

The first three cards are done with my copics, and the final card is gamsol magic with the CHF Thomas Kinkade collection its the first time i've used it and love the outcome.

Hope you are all enjoying the holiday season

PS. Thanks Debi, Sandy and DeeDee for the images I was so pleased to get to play with them, I hope you like what I did with them

Inspired by colour not shapes

This weeks inspiration challenge over at Utah Divas blog is the beautiful snowflake stamps, I was actually looking at these in the post office and up close you can see beautiful purpley/greeny tones on the snowflakes, so I scrapped the card I was making and wasnt too happy with, instead I started playing with the colour combo, I loved how it all started coming together, hoewever, my snowmen weren't stampin up, so I grabbed the only xmas set I bought this year, snow swirled and started playing with the gamsol technique, I don't have a finished card to share yet as i'm still playing with how to finish it but thought I would show you that the inspiration doesn't have to come from the shapes or objects in the picture it can come from the colours, this is the snow swirled tree, it is a little more "funky colours" than i would normally use on a christmas card, but all the same I quite like it,

I thought it looked like a muted alcohol ink technique.

I also tried an inkadinkadoo stamp that I have had for a long time, I am so pleased with it I have decided to turn it into my christmas card design, I'd love to know what you think, I used my precious copics!!

I also started with the blues on my Judikins, you will love this set i've you've never seen it before, I will work on the other angels and show you they are so cute!!

That's it for this week! I am hoping to stamp at the weekend, but never get around to it!! I have 250 christmas cards to make so I must get going!!

A few cards

So I have had a productive few days even tho I haven't been posting,

The first was another bulk amount of thank you's I made about 12 of these,

I also co-ordinated the inside and the envelope

And lastly, I mounted up my copic elephant, one of you maybe receiving this shortly :)

That's it for now

Stampscapes 2

So this is my first winter scene, I know what I did wrong so going to try it again with another color combo, I'd also like to try the background with airbrushing copics, I also stamped some of the branches at the top in white although it's hard to see in the picture,

Til later

Stampscapes

Yesterday I went to one of my favourite stores, De Pue's Rubber Stamps in Tannersville, I bought some stampscapes stamps, I never really had a "thing" for them before, but something yesterday caught my eye so I thought why not give them a go, so this is my first attempt, I am quite pleased with it, I can see a few errors in it, but not bad, I wish I had a few flying birds I think it would finish it off, I'd love to know what you think and if there are any experts out there i'd love your help!!

So this is the finished project,

It started like this but I thought it was too plain, but thought i'd take a pic in case I messed it up by adding too much,

I had so many little stamps, grasses, benches, tree's etc I stamped them all out on my stamp a ma jig sheet first so I could see what was going to fit best and where, there was ALOT of stamp a ma jig use on this whole project, and to think I thought it was a waste of money!!!

I also made this sheet whilst I was adding in colors I made this for my greens and another for my reds/yellows/oranges in the sunset, I found it to be really helpfull.

I'm going to play some more, I'd really like to try a winter scene with this

Thank You Card

My husband needed some thank you cards for work so i came up with these, I'd love to know what you think, it uses the new kiwi satin ribbon and upsy daisy stamp set

That's it for this evening,

Stamp A Stack

I will be hosting a Christmas Stamp A Stack at the Cropping Station on November first, you can find more info at their website.

I would love to see some of you there, we will make 5 of each of the following 4 designs, for those of you in New Jersey, I will be hosting this class again at the end of November at Pieces of Time in Flemington, If you would like me to email you the details please let me know. After 2 hours you will have 20 cards made!!! Everything i cut for you so all you have to do is stamp, embellish and assemble!

Here is card number one,

It is a little hard to see but I made a really quick and simple quilted background and the rest is just layers and a stunning old fashion Santa stamp

Here is card number 2,

This is using some of the lovely new Fa La La La making memories papers, this whole collection is stunning

Here is card number three

I love this new cuttlebug folder, there is so many things you can do with it

Here is card number 4,

I love these new stamps, we will also use some distress techniques on these cards

Hope to see some of you there

Playing With Copics

I recently got into copics, so I thought i'd share with you the few things I have done with them so far, the first thing I did was this snowman, he is an outlines stamp and was please for a first attempt,
I then moved onto one of the new Stampin Up! Images, home for Christmas, I also used some Spica's on this although its hard to see in the picture, I want to add some stickles or puffy paint to the tree to add some dimension

Finally I wanted a card for a friend so colored in this image which I really didn't know what do with, I will post the finished card when I have decided how to mount it

I have a few more posts for you this evening

Mums Brag Book

This is the final project for Creative Inkling, I'd love to know what you think, I made a "Mum's Brag Book" for Maddi's first brithday pictures

This is the first double page, I made a leaf to tuck in tags with journalling, and made te second picture into a leaf to add more jounalling

With there only being a few pages to the album I decided to make this into interactive pages

The next page I put a picture of the cake I made for her party, I wanted to add jounalling but had no room, so made another flap under the picture

This page has a clear leaf so I can see what pictures are in there

This is the back page, I used a transparency over the picture just to finish it off

I'd love to know what you think, I'd love to have kept this I was so pleased with it, I hoped they liked it

Hope you are all having a good weekend
